Two-Time U.S. Open Champion Curtis Strange
Joins All-Star Line Up at Sovereign Bank Charity Golf Classic

--Tournament Playing Positions Still Available on Forsgate’s Palmer Course--

Monroe Township, N.J.--Officials of the upcoming Sovereign Bank Charity Golf Classic announce that Curtis Strange, winner of 17 PGA TOUR titles including back-to-back U.S. Open Championships (1989, 1990), will join the event’s all-star line up of golfing greats at Forsgate Country Club, Sept. 25-26, 2006. The Sovereign Bank Charity Golf Classic will feature two days of golf and entertainment in an effort to raise valuable dollars for The Forsgate Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting worthwhile causes throughout New Jersey.

Best known to fans as a steely-eyed and tenacious competitor on the golf course, Strange was one of the best players on the PGA TOUR during the 1980s. In addition to logging all but one of his 17 career victories during this decade, Strange won the TOUR money title three times and was the first professional golfer to surpass $1 million in earnings in a single season.

Throughout his illustrious career, Strange competed on five U.S. Ryder Cup teams and served as Captain of the 2002 team. In the 1990s, Strange jumped from the golf course to the broadcast booth, where he worked as an expert golf commentator on ABC until 2004. In 2005, he joined the Champions Tour and recorded two, Top-10 performances in his rookie year.

At the Charity Classic, Strange will share the spotlight with perennial gallery favorite Fuzzy Zoeller, 2005 Champions Tour Leading Money Winner Dana Quigley and LPGA stars of the future Erica Blasberg and Jenna Daniels.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m., the public is invited to come out and watch as Strange, Zoeller and company participate in the Malouf Auto Group Celebrity Skills Exhibition. Fans will be entertained with anecdotes from life on the Champions Tour and LPGA Tour and will be enthralled with demonstrations of the players’ professional golf skills. Television personality Matt Griesser, best known for his recurring role as “Sign Boy” in FootJoy’s national commercials, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Following this showcase, at 3 p.m. the gallery can watch as the celebrities battle it out on Forsgate’s renowned Banks Course in the Bud Light Skins Game for a total purse of $9,000.
