-- Special Olympics New Jersey Named Event Beneficiary --

Monroe Township, NJ. -The Forsgate Foundation will host its second annual Charity Golf Classic, October 3 - 4, 2004, at the private Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, New Jersey. PGA professional Peter Jacobsen will join Champions Tour legend and fan favorite Chi Chi Rodriguez in entertaining an enthusiastic gallery of fans and golfers at this charity tournament that will once again benefit Special Olympics New Jersey.

Established in 2003, The Forsgate Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting worthwhile causes in the community through the use of the renowned and historic Forsgate Country Club. The Charity Golf Classic is the signature event of the Forsgate Foundation and the goal is to raise $75,000 over three years for Special Olympics New Jersey. For over three decades, Special Olympics has been dedicated to helping children and adults with developmental disabilities connect with opportunity and achievement.

The Forsgate Foundation Charity Golf Classic will kick-off on Sunday, October 3rd with a VIP reception and a live and silent auction featuring unique sports memorabilia, extravagant vacation getaways, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to get up close and personal with Jacobsen and Rodriguez.

The following day on October 4th at 8:30am, event participants will compete in an 18-hole golf tournament on the links of Forsgate Country Club's renowned Banks Course, recently named the #2 private golf course in the state of New Jersey. Following the golf tournament at 2:00pm, fans and golfers alike will be treated to an Exhibition Clinic highlighting the skills and showmanship of Jacobsen and Rodriguez.

At 3:00pm, The Forsgate Foundation Charity Golf Classic will culminate with the exciting nine-hole Skins Game, a friendly competition featuring Jacobsen and Rodriguez battling it out for a total purse of $9,000 that will be donated to Special Olympics New Jersey.

The cost to participate in the Charity Golf Classic is $875 per person, which includes one playing position in the tournament; an invitation to the live and silent auction, and awards reception; a special gift package; and VIP parking. A portion of the fee is tax deductible and the field of player participants is limited to 120 players.

Additional opportunities for involvement include purchasing a Patron Participant package for $45 that allows individuals access to the live and silent auction, Exhibition Clinic and Skins Game. In addition, Gallery Participant tickets are $15 and available for those fans who are interested in attending all the day's events on October 4th featuring Jacobsen and Rodriguez.

"This event is a wonderful opportunity for the Forsgate Foundation to give something back to the community while raising valuable dollars for a worthy cause," says Dave Wasenda, executive director of the Forsgate Foundation. "There is a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from the Forsgate Country Club membership and from the community as we gear up for our second annual Golf Classic. We encourage everyone to come out during the event to support Special Olympics and have an enjoyable time with golf legends Peter Jacobsen and Chi Chi Rodriguez."

Peter Jacobsen, returning to this event for the second consecutive year, is one of golf's most entertaining and well-liked players. In 2003, Jacobsen surprised and delighted fans with his PGA TOUR victory at the Greater Hartford Open, marking his seventh career win and catapulting him up to number 60 on the TOUR money list. A consummate entertainer, Jacobsen leads a band called "Jake Trout and the Flounders," and hosts his own television program on The Golf Channel. In addition, Jacobsen is the owner of Peter Jacobsen Productions, an event management company that currently runs several PGA Tour and Champions Tour events.

A gallery favorite who is known to many for his colorful performances, Chi Chi Rodriguez is also one of the most accomplished golfers on the Champions Tour and a passionate supporter of worthy causes. Rodriguez has captured 22 Champions Tour titles and seven PGA Tour titles in his 44 years of professional golf. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992 and is a past recipient of the USGA's highest honor, the Bob Jones Award, given in recognition of distinguished sportsmanship in golf. Rodriguez is equally impressive off the links as he has raised more than five million dollars for his Chi Chi Rodriguez Foundation and is a member of the World Humanitarian Sports Hall of Fame.
