Celebrity Guests

Johnny Miller

One of golf’s greats, Johnny Miller has won 23 PGA Tour titles in his distinguished career, the most recent in 1994 when he recaptured the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-AM. Mr. Miller has won two majors -- the 1973 U.S. Open and the 1976 British Open, and two World Cups. He ranks seventh on the all-time list for wins in a season with eight in 1974, when he led the Tour in earnings. This was the only time between 1971 and 1980 that someone other than Jack Nicklaus or Tom Watson won the money title.

Peter Jacobsen

The Golf Classic’s second celebrity guest, Peter Jacobsen, is one of golf’s most colorful and well-liked players. He hosts his own tournament each year - the Fred Meyer Challenge. A consummate entertainer, Mr. Jacobsen also leads a band called “Jake Trout and the Flounders,” which features golfers Mark Lye and Larry Rinker. Equally entertaining on the course, in 1995 Jacobsen had back-to-back wins at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-AM and Buick Invitational in California. The season produced over $1 million in earnings for Jacobsen as well as his fifth and sixth PGA Tour victories.
