David J. Wasenda is the Vice President of RDC Golf Group, a developer, owner, and operator of premium golf and country clubs on the East coast. He is also currently serving as General Manager / Chief Operating Officer for Forsgate Country Club, located in Monroe Township, New Jersey, a 36-hole, premium-level, private country club which is owned and managed by RDC Golf Group. Lastly, he serves as the Executive Director of the Forsgate Foundation, which is a non-profit organization with the purpose of providing support to worthwhile causes in the regional community through use of the first-class venue and rich history of Forsgate Country Club
He started his career in Golf and Hospitality in 1987 at the age of 18 at Forsgate in Outside Golf Operations. During that time, he worked all aspects of the Golf Operations at the 36 hole facility in which he developed most systems still in use today. In 1994, he was appointed Golf Operations Administrator. In this role, he was second in charge of the department and his focus was on the development of the systemization, financial reporting, and the business end of the golf operation. Systems such as tee time availability reports, labor cost control, and increased stability in fee generating profit were among some of his accomplishments.
During the same time, David was very active with the highly recognized Fall Classic held annually at Forsgate Country Club from 1993 through 1997. Golf greats such as Arnold Palmer, Tom Kite, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, and Nancy Lopez were some of the PGA Legend's featured at these events. He served on organizing, planning, celebrity management, and executive tournament committees. His operational background contributed to the success of the five high-profile events.
In 1997, he was appointed to Director of Golf Operations for Forsgate Country Club. He was responsible for all golf operations as well as overseeing the professional, outside, and golf shop staffs. He was also responsible for creating and modifying programs for the club as well as monitoring the budget and profitability of the department.
In 1999, he assumed a new role by being appointed Vice President of Field Services of RDC Golf Group. As Vice President of Field Services, David was responsible for overseeing and providing corporate support for the operations of RDC golf and country clubs in New Jersey, North Carolina, Maryland, and Florida. During the four-year period, he served as a General Manager or Acting General Manager in eight different courses during acquisitions, transitions, and special circumstances. Additionally, he served on due diligence teams on five different occasions in three different states.
In 2003, David assumed the title of Executive Director of the newly formed Forsgate Foundation. In this role, he oversees the Foundation and is totally responsible for the 'Charity Golf Classic'. The Forsgate Foundation Charity Golf Classic (www.forsgatefoundation.org) is the marquee event of the foundation and all profits from this and future event proceeds benefit local/regional charities.
In 2004, David assumed the role of General Manager / Chief Operating Officer for Forsgate Country Club. In this role, he is responsible for the entire facility. During his tenure over the past two seasons, Dave has focused on improving Member Satisfaction and Employee Morale through his vast knowledge, past experiences, and long standing relationships at Forsgate. He has also been instrumental in creating many new systems and procedures to streamline operations and increase profitability. Forsgate is the flagship of RDC Golf Group and has continually been rated as one of the top golf facilities in the state of New Jersey.
In 2004, David also assumed his current role of Vice President of RDC Golf Group. In this new role, he continues to be involved in the operations of the RDC facilities. He organizes and facilitates all company management conferences, provides operational support to RDC Properties, assists in consulting contacts, manages due diligence teams, and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer.
He is known throughout the organization for his dedication to excellence, strong business and people skills.
David attended Middlesex County College, Edison, New Jersey, and Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is active with the New Jersey Golf Associations. He is a collector of many types of memorabilia and is an ardent admirer of automobiles. In 1993, he expanded this avocation into the launch of a Central New Jersey based automotive specialty store. He, as the owner and operator, managed a staff of fourteen employees and successfully developed the business until late 1998 when a local businessman bought his company.
